At this time, we are only offering online therapy. However, in the future if demand for in-person therapy increases then we will be looking into in-person therapy options.

At the first session, we have our intake appointment, which involves discussing your history, current symptoms, and goals with your psychotherapist in New York.

Usually either 40-45 minutes in length, or up to 53 minutes.
Frequency of sessions is based on medical need and availability. Sessions often starts off on a weekly basis or every other week. Therapy frequency can increase or decrease over time as your needs change. Some folks will graduate out of short-term therapy over time as they develop and implement strategies that work well for them.

Your out of pocket costs can vary depending on your insurance coverage and depending on the level of the clinician. We have clinicians available at these levels:
PhD or PsyD License (Psychologist)
Master's License (LPC, LMHC, LCSW, or other License)
Master’s Trainees (therapists who have graduated with Master’s who are still under supervision and in training may be available at reduced fees)
Estimates of out of pocket costs are available prior to intake once your insurance has been verified. You may also contact your insurer to request clarification such as:
-Mental health insurance benefit coverage availability
-Out-of-network benefits (if applicable)
-Total deductible per year and amount remaining
-Copay/co-insurance amounts for mental health therapy
-Whether prior authorization is required from your Primary Care Physician

Self-pay clients have a right to a Good Faith Estimate for the total cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

Clinician schedules can vary. We do have evening and weekend appointments available, but it is best for you to reach out and confirm current availability with one of our psychotherapists in New York.

Our psychotherapists in New York will regularly check-in with you to ensure your goals are being met and progress is being made. If therapy is not working for you with one of our psychotherapists in New York, we will work with you to find other providers, resources, or therapists of New York license who are able to meet with you and might better meet your needs.

Your information is protected under federal law. HIPAA protects your private health information and sets rules and limits on who can review and receive your protected health information. We use HIPAA-compliant software for remote video visits such as SimplePractice and Google Meet.
Confidentiality is important to having a sense of safety in therapy. Therapy requires a high degree of trust between the client and therapist and we are careful to protect your information. Prior to intake, we will provide a Notice of Privacy Practices that further details how your information is protected, how it may be disclosed, and your rights.
Please note that state law and professional ethical guidelines allow some exemptions to confidentiality and require a duty to report in certain situations. Some state laws require reporting specific risks or harms such as when the therapist reasonably suspects abuse or neglect regarding children and vulnerable adults. Additionally, an exception to confidentiality exists when required to intervene regarding a patient who has threatened a serious risk of harm to self or others.
